Green Day have been confirmed as headliners for the UK's Reading and Leeds Festivals 2013, alongside Biffy Clyro and Eminem. Green Day to headline Reading and Leeds festival Green Day will headline the UK's Reading and Leeds Festivals 2013. The 'American Idiot' rockers will be taking to the stage on Friday 23rd August in Reading and in Leeds on Saturday 24th August for their first UK shows following frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's stint in rehab. Billie was admitted to rehab after a very public meltdown on stage in Las Vegas last September, during which he screamed profanities and slammed Justin Bieber, and he admits the embarrassment the incident caused him helps him to remain sober. He said: ''People will remind me a little bit. Or I'll see a photograph. And it makes me so sick. No. I can't go there. That's my last drink. Which is good - it's documented. Anytime I feel like drinking, I can think about it.'' Grreen Day join Biffy Clyro and Eminem, who will headline the other two days of the festival. Further new additions to the line-up include Chase and Status, Brand New, The Lumineers, Editors, White Lies, Frank Turner and US dance music star Skrillex Nine Inch Nails are also set to perform at the festivals for the first time since 2007, their only UK shows of 2013. Acts who have previously been confirmed for the festivals include System Of A Down, Bring Me The Horizon, Jake Bugg, Foals, Alt-J, Sub Focus and Deftones. Fall Out Boy - who recently announced their return after a three year hiatus - will also perform on the main stage and preview material from their new album ' Save Rock And Roll'. Aside from the main stage, the event will also have the NME/Radio 1 stage, BBC Radio 1 Dance Stage and BBC 1Xtra stage, which will feature a diverse range of acts such as dance act Bastille and rapper Wiley. Reading and Leeds festivals will take place between August 23 and 25.
